Jake’s Soccer

Jake is old enough to play, so I’ve got my second chance to coach. Samantha occasionally mentions her prior experience with nostalgia, but there is no real indication that she wants to play again.

This is a day I look forward to in my own parenting future. I do hope it comes. Did you get put in the book for going out on the pitch during the match?
No, no, no… These are four year olds, so coaches are allowed on the field with them. Good thing, too! On a few occasions this morning kids forgot to stop when they crossed the endline. I was chasing them over behind the trees at one point.
I think I may have to spend a Saturday out at the park just to watch the herding of the young footballers. I could use a good laugh like that once a week.
